New Golf VI! Well, first we will have a restyled Golf V. But for 2008 the Golf VI is expected. Swedish site Auto Motor & Sport published information onthe next Golf iteration. It seems that the current Golf V is too expensive, a new one is needed. To cut costs the next one will be based on the current one's technology. Measurement's will be the same. It will move away a bit from the nostalgic design and be more "dynamic" with surface treatment ala BMW. The interior will get new materials and colours and will show a new design philosophy more appealing to younger buyers.
The magazine got one thing wrong: the Golf V is not expensive to manufacture, it is around 9% cheaper than the Golf IV. But they are right on other thing: a new Golf is needed asap.
